Having grown up around missions and missionaries, Michael Springer took full-time ministry for granted. His grandparents, Joe and Betty Springer, were missionaries and musicians with HCJB Global for many years. He remembers his grandfather often quoting Jeremiah 29:11 to him.

It wasn't until Michael's grandfather died that God brought the following verse to life for Michael as he read Jeremiah 29:13: "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."  Michael suddenly realized no one was going to call him up and recruit him into missionary service.  It was up to him to seek out God's plan.  The next day he was on the phone with HCJB Global.

Even though Joleen was raised in a Christian home and attended a Christian school, it has been a rocky path through life that has drawn her tighter into God's arms.  With two older children (Lance, 19 and Brandon, 17) from a previous marriage, Joleen has seen some hard and lonely times. Yet, as God carried Joleen through those struggles, he also molded into her heart a desire to make a difference in people's life with His Love. As her new husband, Michael, became convinced of his call to missions, Joleen knew the path the two were walking was right where God wanted her.

Michael, a University of Florida graduate, has experience in sales, recruiting, and relationship management.  Joleen has worked for 10 years managing a doctor's office. At HCJB Global, the two will be using Michael's love for travel and experience with foreign cultures and Joleen's organizational skills and servant heart to help others be the Voice and Hands of Jesus worldwide!

Currently, the plan is for Michael will work in HCJB Global's Global Involvement department.  Global Involvement includes HCJB Global's Work Teams program, Summer Missionary/Internship program, Working Visitors program and Vision Journey/Adventure Tours program!  Through these and future programs, Michael will work to:

• centrally coordinate the activities of these programs throughout the six worldwide regions (including the Global Technology Center)
• increase the level of involvement with individuals and churches, and
• introduce a new generation to foreign missions.

Joleen will be working alongside Michael in Global Involvement as well as serving in HCJB Global's Member Care department.  Using Barnabas as a biblical example, Member Care personnel act as a source of encouragement to missionaries serving on the field.  She will also be assisting missionaries readjusting to cultural changes as they return from the field for HMA (Home Ministry Assignment). 

As the mission moves forward into the 21st century, the couple hopes to help churches and individuals connect with the ministries of HCJB Global as they are the voice and hands of Jesus around the world.
